The Project

Join You is a live-event connection platform — a smart-matching tool that helps attendees meet the right people at conferences, networking mixers, college orientations, and community events. Instead of awkward intros or forced networking, attendees scan a QR code on arrival, get placed into a small intentional group, and have 30 minutes to connect organically.

Join You came to me with a clear product idea but no public-facing brand. They needed an entire visual identity, a website that explained the concept clearly to event organizers and attendees, social content to launch the brand across Instagram and LinkedIn, and printed materials they could hand out at the events themselves.

This was delivered as one cohesive package.

Brand Refresh

Built the visual identity from the ground up:

  • Color palette — a warm, NYC-coded set built around terracotta orange, peach, cream, and dark brown, with neutral gray and white as supporting tones. The palette signals "intentional and human" rather than "tech startup," which matched the brand's anti-cold-networking positioning.

  • Typography system — three fonts: a bold, condensed sans-serif for headers, an elegant serif for sub-headers and lifestyle copy, and a clean modern serif for body text. The system gives the brand both confidence and warmth.

  • Logo design — "JOINYOU" in the header sans-serif, paired with an NYC skyline silhouette and the tagline "Smart networking, designed for real connection."

  • Brand voice guidelines — a tone of warm, anti-cynical professionalism that runs consistently through every piece of copy delivered.

Website Design & Build

Designed and built the website:

  • Home (joinyou.org) — leads with the brand promise ("Meaningful connections. Made simple."), walks visitors through the four-step product flow, names the problem Join You solves, and invites event organizers to bring it to their event.

  • Services (joinyou.org/services) — deeper explanation of how the platform works for event organizers and what they can expect.

  • Contact / Join (joinyou.org/contact) — sign-up funnel for attendees and event organizers, with a clear three-step "how it works" flow.

Every page was written in the brand voice — warm but professional, anti-cliché, conversational without losing credibility.

Social Content: Instagram & LinkedIn

Designed and wrote 10 launch posts for Instagram and LinkedIn — each with a custom graphic and a fully-written caption. The posts were designed as a connected launch series, each one carrying a different message but building toward the same brand position.

Launch lines written:

  • "Connection isn't about collecting contacts. It's about creating moments."

  • "Networking not meeting your standards? We felt that too."

  • "Surrounded by people. Still not connecting."

  • "Small groups. Better conversations."

  • "Scan. Match. Meet. Repeat."

The full set was organized to ladder from problem-aware ("networking is broken") to solution-aware ("here's why we built this") to product-aware ("here's how it works"), so the launch built a narrative across the first month of posting.

Marketing Collateral

Produced the physical and printed materials Join You needed to launch at live events:

  • One-page flyer — a polished overview of the product, designed to be handed out at networking events and conferences. Explains what Join You is, how it works, why partners should use it, and ends with the brand's signature line: "Scan. Meet. Connect. Repeat."

  • Customizable QR code template — a branded poster template event organizers can drop their event QR code into. Designed to feel inviting rather than transactional. "Scan to join this event's Join You experience."
